Very simple, you pick the guilds best at VoD (rawr, StS, sup and uF) who score high almost every time. Add the two guilds who actually run something interesting (dR and Best) and add 2 random guild on place 4 and 8. For the random guild you have enough choice tho. BdV, Glad, CoSp (are they playing this time?), NOW, mkay, noGG. I would stay away from Japanese guilds, but just for the fun of it, there actually is a guild from Taiwan as option. And not sure what to think about The Laxandor [LaX], anyone knows something about them?

You have to mash sig judge pretty hard too, since a lot of teams are running tripsmite with 3 of those and only 2 humsigs

Because ANET has not updated... Plenty of teams with 20+ QP and they are not on the list. Last time I checked they were not on the list of the excused guilds from it (anet employees).
And your all wrong. StS to take gold this time .
Basically mine is
1.StS
2.Best
3.Rawr
4-8.whoru's

1) Baby
I always put my own guild on 1, if we find a decent ranger we should be able to do pretty well.
2) StS
They are bind by an eternal curse that means they can never get gold, I think they will do well again though as they have played a lot lately (except I haven't seen Bufu play much so maybe he won't be able to divert as many bull's strikes, eviscerates and wounding strikes as normally).
3) dR
So dR is officially not iQ anymore with the departure of Ensign and Augie, however their DF honor increased tenfold. With Farin and Chiizu joining they now have the best frontline in the game and Divine is a really REALLY good flagger, of course they ain't got nuthin' on Baby so they'll be #3.
4) Rawr
3-2-1-spiking is of all times, as is conjure frost, their build doesn't seem nearly as strong as their previous builds though, if they stick to the shit they ran lately they probably won't even get this far, but we'll see.
5) uF
Despite not playing ever these guys somehow always manage to do pretty well, usually not very good at Build Wars though.
6) sup
They've been doing very poorly lately but if/when Tava comes back I'm sure they'll still make top 8.
7/8) mkay/StP/Glad/????
I really have no idea, I really doubt mkay will get top 8 if Wegi monks, if not they might have a shot, StP is a pretty solid team but they never seem to do that well in monthlies, and people still lose to Glad for some reason so I can see them making the cut again..
Swing and miss:
B(a)dV
Enforced their already bad mid- and frontline with a bad ranger and a 2nd bad warrior, on top of that they also picked up a new bad flagger (guess the old one wasn't bad enough?)
qE
Depends on wether or not Lemming plays, if he does, bronze, if not, silver.
CoSp
Haven't seen too much from them tbh, don't seem to be very good ad buildwars and their flagger is atrocious.
noGG
Haven't seen them play that often lately, but as long as they're running frenzy hammer warriors they won't do well.
NOW
An already shitty guild who also haven't played much lately (are they even playing the monthly?)
dV
DF without the frontline, basically leaves champ and a bunch of former benchwarmers or people who haven't played much lately. Don't see them going very far.. they do have a lot of DF honor though!
Nap
Bad at build wars, good at dervish wars, that meta seems to have passed for the most part though, probably will get bronze again.
dP
Like all honorable frenchies they fight 8v8 exclusively, they don't resort to dishonorable tactics like splitting and while this might mean that they lose some matches, it matters not for they keep their DF honor.
OuHa
Bad at guild wars, good at dervish wars, don't see them getting very far.
